Still on the original Maisel's card, never worn.

A cow-poke, cast small enough to hang off a bracelet, chain, or add to a growing western charm collection. The detail on this one is better than it has any right to be at this size, and the woolly chaps make it a classic rodeo and cowboy piece rather than a generic western charm.

Sterling silver, marked on the original Maisel's card

Approx. 1" tall x 1/2" wide, not including the jump ring

New old stock, still attached to its original Maisel's card

Vintage Maisel's Route 66 trading post charm from Albuquerque, New Mexico

Single charm, ideal for a charm bracelet, pendant, or collecting

One available

The story
Maisel's Indian Trading Post opened on Route 66 in downtown Albuquerque in 1939. Maurice Maisel hired John Gaw Meem, the architect who defined Pueblo Revival, and told him he was "not content with the usual Indian thing." Olive Rush designed the murals across the facade, painted by young artists including Pablita Velarde, Ben Quintana, Harrison Begay, and Pop Chalee. By the 1940s Maisel's was the largest trading post on Route 66. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. This charm came off that counter and never left its card.

Wearing it
Add it to your favorite chain or charm bracelet, or give it to someone who collects these. The card is half the reason they'll want it. It works especially well on traditional link-style charm bracelets or as a small western pendant on a fine chain, and it makes a fun start (or addition) to a Route 66 or Southwest-themed bracelet.

Any three pieces, 15% off.
